In class we watched a video called Food Matters. This film went over very interesting topics that happen in our world every day. They first talked about how nothing that we eat is natural. Since farmers neglect the nutrients in their crops soil. The plants do not grow how they should. This forces those to buy steroids from cooperation’s. This is what we get when we eat our “healthy vegetables”.
They also talked about how heart disease is the number one killer in the U.S, followed by cancer. They stated how the U.S just wants to treat patients with pharmaceutical drugs vs. vitamins. Even with the statistic of 106,000 deaths per year from pharmaceutical drugs and 10 from vitamins. Most professions do not ask about diets, which is critical to good health. The body is its own healing mechanism when nurtured properly.
They went on about how we should be eating more raw foods. Because when cooked our food loses its health value. Our stomach sees food as a toxic and it is more difficult to digest. Which I thought was very interesting I never knew that. They mentioned about super foods; they claimed they we could live off of these foods. I’m not sure how true or how much research has been done on it. If true there would be an epidemic of health, causing the government to lose money. This is why this issue is so overlooked. a
At home I have been getting ready for Easter. My daughter loves Mickey Mouse so I have been shopping around for her basket. Trying to find Mickey things is a difficult because EVERYTHING is from the Frozen movie. I have been at my Grandma’s house having some drinks, playing rummy. I love it though, I much rather be with family then out drinking with friends. Just because it always turns into a shit show and I regret even going out. I try not to put myself in them situations anymore.
